Cooking with awareness and intention.

Creating presentations that bring joy.

Cuisine with an aim to nourish and satiate.

Since 2008, Deborah has prepared and served food for her Lamas, Tulku Sangak Rinpoche (sometimes spelled Sang-ngag) and Namchak Khen Rinpoche at the Ewam Garden of One Thousand Buddhas and the Namchak Retreat Ranch in Montana. Over these 20 years, she has served hundreds of meals to her Lamas, meditation students from around the world, and visiting dignitaries on every level. She has offered her life to the dharma of service. With great aspiration, she is dedicated to healing all beings through these culinary offerings, created with love and intention.

For the past 4 years, Deborah has been head chef at the Namchak Retreat Ranch in Hot Springs, MT, serving students and lamas alike during the monthly teachings. It is an honor and a labor of love to share her menus patiently developed over two decades, designed to nourish and satisfy students during the deepest of practices. It is her way of Feeding Enlightenment. Pictured here are translator Justin Kirkwood, Tibetan nun Dorlop Chosang, and Tibetan Lama Namchak Khen Rinpoche, brother of Tulku Sangak Rinpoche.

For annual retreats, Deborah often travels to cook for her lamas. Pictured here are the Namchak Foundation translators, led by Tulku Sangak Rinpoche, in a week-long text-translation session near San Francisco, CA, in July 2026.
